Please send along to your contacts in the lacrosse world that you think would be interested in participating.

THE GOBLIN GAMES BEGAN  IN 1998 MODELED AFTER THE TURKEYSHOOT BOYS TOURNAMENT WHICH ENDEAVORED TO GIVE PLAYERS A PLACE TO PLAY LACROSSE IN THE FALL., BECAUSE THEY LOVE THE GAME AND WANT TO GET BETTER.  PLAYERS CAN PLAY IN THE JV AND VARSITY DIVISIONS IF THEIR COACHES INVITE THEM TO. A TALENTED 4th GRADER COULD PLAY WITH THEIR AGE GROUP AND PLAY UP IN THE 5/6 DIVISION. THE MODIFIED DIVISION IS THE ONLY SITUATION WHERE A PLAYER CAN "PLAY DOWN".  MODIFIED IS 7th/8th GRADERS ACCORDING TO THE NYSPHSAA HOWEVER, I HAVE ALWAYS USED THE GOBLIN GAMES TO GIVE PLAYERS NEW TO LACROSSE A CHANCE TO PLAY WITHOUT THE PRESSURE OF THE SCHOLASTIC SEASON SO IF A COACH WANTS TO PUT A NOVICE 9th GRADER ON THEIR MODIFIED SQUAD THAT IS ALLOWED. IN ALL OTHER CASES PLAYERS SHOULD PLAY WITH THEIR AGE GROUP.

One player from each team will be given the Luvlax Teammate award.

Luvlaxs' Mission is to provide young people the opportunity to learn the positive lessons that participating in team athletics can provide. Luvlax expects participants and spectators to Honor the Game by displaying good sportsmanship at all times.

The Luvlax Most Valuable Teammate award recipients should honor the game by displaying the following characteristics:

  • Work hard even when no one is watching.
  • Kind to everyone, all of the time.
  • Supportive of teammates and opponents.
  • Respectful to officials, coaches, and the community.
  • Competes fairly on the field and in the classroom.
  • Displays good sportsmanship at all times.
  • Friendly, positive member of a vibrant community.
  • Understand that winning should never be more important than good sportsmanship

When teams Check in upon arrival at the tournament their coach or team representative will receive a MVT nomination form. This must be returned to the Tournament Director by 11:30.

There will be a short MVT Awards ceremony at 11:45am to recognize this year's winners.
